Boston, Massachusetts - June 20, 2011 -- Ethical investment advocacy group, Alternative Asset Analysis (AAA), is pleased to announce its support for a new board game, which encourages ethical investments.

Ethica is a game where the players take on the roles of venture capitalists or investment bankers with ambitions to make cash while helping to support environmentally or socially responsible projects.

\"Although Ethica is clearly a game, it carries an important message – that in this day and age, we all have a responsibility to ensure our money doesn’t go towards unethical activities,\" stated AAA’s analysis partner, Anthony Johnson. He added that impact investing, which has seen funds based in Western countries invest million into small businesses in Africa and elsewhere, has made a significant difference to people\'s lives in developing countries.

\"These kinds of investment projects provide a way for people to climb their way out of poverty, throwing a lifeline to their families and wider communities on the way,\" commented Johnson.

The idea of the game Ethica is to make the most money through the most ethical investments. Each ‘deal’ available to the players carries a score for its financial, social or environmental impact. The aim of the game is to have the lowest score at the end.

Collaborative ethical investment group Reseau Financement Alternatif is said to be the inspiration behind the game, according to its developers. Ethica is one of several recently released ethical games that concentrate on education young people about the importance of having a conscience in the way we go about our lives. Other such games include a green version of Monopoly, called Earthopoly, and a question and answer-themed game, Bioviva.

\"It has become easier than ever to make a difference while making money,\" added Mr Johnson. \"There are some interesting and environmentally beneficial investment opportunities in emerging economies such as Brazil – like sustainable forestry investments run by the likes of Greenwood Management and Global Forestry Investments.

\"These help to provide alternative timber and fuel to industry, thus helping to reduce dependence on native timbers growing in the country’s precious rain forests.\"
