Timely Management of problems with the builder, contractor and team can bring success to any interior design project, says Mr. Sameer Mandre of iDream Advisory Services Pvt Ltd, a leading Mumbai based interior and architect firm. Support from the team involved in the project helps the Project Manager to solve issues he/she faces during the execution, he added.

In an informal interview with a video documentation project, Sameer narrated his experience of managing projects in Nerul and Pune. Sameer has delivered both the projects on time.

Narrating his experience in a video interview, Sameer has said, “There were a lot of problems with the builder during the initial stage. Also labour restriction was a big challenge as only 20 people were allowed to work at a time. The time provided was not sufficient as working during the night was restricted during the early days, which was however, lifted in the end. There were problems with the government and Royalty, which highly affected the supply of sand. Due to this the civil work came to a halt for awhile. Another problem was that the tiles selected for the toilet block went out of stock due to the vendor’s negligence. We had to bring new tiles and take the approval from the clients immediately and then use them. There were problems of Laminates, as the ones ordered came with horizontal lines instead of vertical. Our designer, Anirban immediately went to the site and solved this issue by proposing a new design which was in sync with the overall ambiance.”

He has also added , “ While working on a site for a Pune based company, I also faced many problems in terms of execution. The biggest challenge here was using the existing furniture, shifting it and installing it in the new office. It is very difficult to uproot existing furniture and achieve a good finish when it is finally installed in the new place. But iDream managed to fulfill this and complete this project. But these are all part of the project execution process. These issues can be overcome with a smooth and timely coordination with the contractor and client.”
